Christopher L. Doran is a Vernon–based attorney who brings deep local roots, courtroom experience, and practical judgment to every case he handles. Raised in Jennings County and a graduate of Jennings County High School, Chris understands the community, the courts, and the challenges his clients face. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Evansville and his Juris Doctorate from the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law.
As a sole practitioner, Chris offers personalized, hands-on representation in criminal defense, family law, and collections. Clients work directly with their attorney, not passed off to staff, ensuring clear communication, careful preparation, and a strategy tailored to their specific situation.
In addition to private practice, he has served as a judicial officer in Jennings County, presiding over family and juvenile matters. He is a graduate of the Indiana Judicial College and has been certified by the Indiana Supreme Court as a senior judge.
Chris is also deeply committed to service and accountability-based justice. He volunteers for his pro bono service as a public defender for both the Adult Recovery Court and Family Recovery Court in Jennings County, advocating for individuals working to overcome substance use disorders while navigating court supervision. This experience strengthens his ability to guide clients through high-stakes, complex situations with empathy and clarity.
Admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, Chris has also served as President of the Jennings County Bar Association and remains active in numerous professional organizations. Above all, he is committed to providing honest advice, responsive communication, and strong advocacy for clients facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
